Crisp, perfectly clear portrait photograph of Joe Jackson with the Chicago White Sox, dating from 1919. We have dated this photo based on the uniform Jackson is wearing, comparing the style with White Sox uniforms of the era according to the Okkonen uniform style book. The reverse is blank. It is likely this photo is a news wire photograph which has been neatly trimmed to its current dimensions (4.25 x 3.5 inches). A tremendous portrait image of Jackson, with superb contrast, dating from the year of the scandal. Excellent condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800.
