A Victorian carved giltwood and micromosaic mounted centre table, circa 1880, the circular top with a central roundel depicting St Peter's and the Piazza, surrounded by six oval reserves depicting the Flavian Amphitheatre, the ruins of the Roman Forum with the Temple of Vespasian, the Temple of Vesta, the Pantheon, the Arch of Constantine and the Capitoline Hill; within concentric borders of marmo rosso antico and lapis lazuli, with a further border of inset sample marbles including marmo brocatello, Siena and various Breccias, all set into the marmo nero Belgio top; the moulded frieze above a scroll and cornucopia carved stem on triple downswept legs centred by lappet terminals and on scroll feet, 82cm high, the top 73cm diameter
