Important Notice: Please note that the format of this auction differs from a traditional eBay Live auction in that only absentee bids are accepted. There is no live "bidding on the close" in which to participate. All lots offered in this auction will close at exactly the same time, as opposed to a traditional one at a time closing of lots, and therefore there is no live "one lot at a time" bidding close in which to participate. Your left bids will compete with all other left bids by auction participants. Bids may be placed on the eBay system at any time prior to 9:00 PM EST, May 1, 2004. No bids will be recognized or accepted when the eBay Live "live bidding applet" is run early in the morning of May 2, 2004 strictly for the purpose of officially registering and recording the final auction results.

1914 Championship Base Ball Parlor Board Game

The colorful box for the Championship Base Ball Parlor Game features a stadium illustration of a game in progress. The cover assures us that the game is "Played the Same as the Great National Out-Door Game in Every Detail." This may be a slight exaggeration. The simple game is played with dice and circular cardboard game pieces, placed on a folding game board. The original detailed game instructions and a premium photo (7" x 11") of the "Miracle Braves," which were originally issued with the game, are also included (Vg, with some minor restoration). The game box shows wear, with some tears and a small section missing from the side aprons, but the box top, which provides the game's considerable display value, is in Excellent condition. Despite flaws, this is a very attractive example of this very scarce ideal-for-display early table top baseball game. The box measures 9.5" x 22" x 2." Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800.
