Important Notice: Please note that the format of this auction differs from a traditional eBay Live auction in that only absentee bids are accepted. There is no live "bidding on the close" in which to participate. All lots offered in this auction will close at exactly the same time, as opposed to a traditional one at a time closing of lots, and therefore there is no live "one lot at a time" bidding close in which to participate. Your left bids will compete with all other left bids by auction participants. Bids may be placed on the eBay system at any time prior to 9:00 PM EST, May 1, 2004. No bids will be recognized or accepted when the eBay Live "live bidding applet" is run early in the morning of May 2, 2004 strictly for the purpose of officially registering and recording the final auction results.

1961 Topps Sports Cars Bubble Gum Unopened Boxes (2)

Two full 24-count display boxes of 1961 Topps Sports Cars Bubble Gum. In each box are 24 never opened five-cent wax packs. In fact, when we peeked in the boxes to just see if they were complete, it became apparent that we were the first to ever even see the top packs. The packs have never been disturbed. Each pack includes several cards from the popular Topps non-sport set, which of course features sports cars, plus a license plate sticker, and a stick of bubblegum. The original advertising flyer which Topps placed on the top of the packs in each box is still present, laying across the top. The packs are in MINT condition, and have never even seen light. The boxes show a little natural shelf wear but are still in Excellent condition. Accompanying the two unopened boxes are 109 assorted cards from the set (these cards range from Vg to Ex). Two incredible unopened boxes, which have miraculously remained in their original state for the past 40+ years, representing a total of 48 Mint unopened five-cent wax packs. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000.
