Important Notice: Please note that the format of this auction differs from a traditional eBay Live auction in that only absentee bids are accepted. There is no live "bidding on the close" in which to participate. All lots offered in this auction will close at exactly the same time, as opposed to a traditional one at a time closing of lots, and therefore there is no live "one lot at a time" bidding close in which to participate. Your left bids will compete with all other left bids by auction participants. Bids may be placed on the eBay system at any time prior to 9:00 PM EST, May 1, 2004. No bids will be recognized or accepted when the eBay Live "live bidding applet" is run early in the morning of May 2, 2004 strictly for the purpose of officially registering and recording the final auction results.
1963 Topps "Beverly Hillbillies" Original Card Artwork Original artwork from the 1963 Topps "Beverly Hillbillies" set, based on the popular T.V. show. This is the actual original flexichrome artwork used to produce card #40, entitled "Who Says My Coat Ain't In Style" and featuring Jed Clampett. The Beverly Hillbillies was a sensation in 1963, and one of the few television shows of the early 1960s to survive with its popularity intact to this day. The Topps set issued in 1963 is, not surprisingly, extremely popular with collectors. Original artworks from the set are very rare. The offered artwork is an ideal example, and is accompanied by the issued card. The original artwork (measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches) and issued card are matted together, ideal for display and ready for framing. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600.
