Important Notice: Please note that the format of this auction differs from a traditional eBay Live auction in that only absentee bids are accepted. There is no live "bidding on the close" in which to participate. All lots offered in this auction will close at exactly the same time, as opposed to a traditional one at a time closing of lots, and therefore there is no live "one lot at a time" bidding close in which to participate. Your left bids will compete with all other left bids by auction participants. Bids may be placed on the eBay system at any time prior to 9:00 PM EST, May 1, 2004. No bids will be recognized or accepted when the eBay Live "live bidding applet" is run early in the morning of May 2, 2004 strictly for the purpose of officially registering and recording the final auction results.

1964 Yoo-Hoo New York Yankees Counter Display

Extremely rare cardboard Yoo-Hoo counter display (14.5 x 17.5 inches) with standup easel reverse features portraits of Yankees Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, Moose Skowron (in Washington Senators hat), Joe Pepitone, Tom Tresh, Bobby Richardson, and Whitey Ford, each enjoying a delicious Yoo-Hoo Chocolate Drink. In the mid-1990s, a very few of these display counter signs turned up (fewer than ten). This pristine example is one of the few from the find. Yoo-Hoo has long had a close association with the Yankees, with both Berra and Mantle being early investors in the business. The piece most likely dates from exactly 1964, as this was the only year in which longtime Yankee first baseman Moose Skowron played for the Senators. The counter display has been professionally framed (16.5 x 19.5 inches total dimensions) and is in pristine condition. A seldom seen point-of-sale advertising gem from the 1960s heyday of both the Yankees and Yoo-Hoo. Near Mint condition. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500.
