Important Notice: Please note that the format of this auction differs from a traditional eBay Live auction in that only absentee bids are accepted. There is no live "bidding on the close" in which to participate. All lots offered in this auction will close at exactly the same time, as opposed to a traditional one at a time closing of lots, and therefore there is no live "one lot at a time" bidding close in which to participate. Your left bids will compete with all other left bids by auction participants. Bids may be placed on the eBay system at any time prior to 9:00 PM EST, May 1, 2004. No bids will be recognized or accepted when the eBay Live "live bidding applet" is run early in the morning of May 2, 2004 strictly for the purpose of officially registering and recording the final auction results.

1954 Johnston Cookies Complete Set Uncut Sheet

1954 Johnston Cookies 42-card uncut production sheet includes the complete set of 35 cards in the series, plus 7 double-printed cards. Johnston Cookies are virtually unheard of in uncut sheet form. In fact, this is the only uncut sheet of Johnston Cookies we have ever handled or seen. The 1954 Johnston Cookies series was regionally issued in Milwaukee, with one card included in each package of Johnston Cookies. The set is comprised exclusively of Milwaukee Braves players, and is especially noted for its inclusion of Hank Aaron in his rookie season (a card which is far rarer than the 1954 Topps Aaron rookie card). Other stars include Warren Spahn (who appears twice on the sheet as one of the double-printed cards), Eddie Mathews, and the rare Bob Thomson card. After his early season injury (which gave Hank Aaron a chance to play regularly), Bobby Thomson's card was withdrawn, accounting for its scarcity and high value. The sheet measures 12.5 x 27.75 inches. Bright, crisp, fresh, and with flawless colors. An extreme (possibly unique) rarity and an extraordinary sheet for display. In Excellent to Mint condition. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000.
