SERIAL #: None DESIGN: Original condition single shot flintlock musket. Circa 1790 - 1820. 39" lightweight round barrel. Bore measures approximately .675" at muzzle. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Iron components with Brass furniture. Full length Beechwood stock with low comb. FEATURES: Front sight can also serve as a bayonet lug. Tower marked lock behind hammer. Crown marked in front of hammer. This type of musket could be a European copy of the original Brown Bess musket or from a commercial contractor fabricating arms for export.. "RG" stamped stamped just under the flash pan. Brass fore end tip, ramrod guides, trigger guard and butt plate with top tang. Brass medallion on wrist of stock behind breech. Metal ramrod with slotted tip. Original sling swivels. CONDITION: Fine. The rear of the barrel shows old light pitting as does the lock plate. Hammer and trigger operate correctly. Small crack at top of brass butt plate. The stock has been re-varnished and all metal parts have been cleaned.
