DESCRIPTION: Philip R. Goodwin (American, 1881-1935). Six prints of original illustrations on a six panel display. Includes Bear in Mind, When Action Counts, A Sporting Chance, The Forest Rangers, Going After 'Em, and Preparedness. Each Print is under plexiglass within a segmented wood frame. Philip R. Goodwin was born September 16, 1881. He was an American painter and illustrator who specialized in depictions of wildlife, the outdoors, fishing, hunting and the Old American West. He provided illustrations for numerous books and magazines, as well as for commercial items, such as posters, advertisements and calendars. He is perhaps best known for illustrating Jack London's The Call of the Wild and for providing the cover art for many issues of Outdoor Recreation / Outdoor Life Magazine during the 1920s and early 1930s. He is also the artist who designed the Horse & Rider Trademark of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. MEASUREMENTS: Each image size is 11" x 8-1/8". Overall with frame 78-1/2" x 11-5/8". CONDITION: Minor chipping and scratching to the frame. No defects noted to the images and plexiglass. ESTIMATE: $150 - $250
