Virgin Valley, Humboldt County, Nevada, United States,
sourced from the most prized American locality for opal, consisting of a thick nodule exhibiting strongly contrasting light and dark coloration in the lamellar structure, the top surface displaying strong play-of-color in predominantly red flashes accompanied by greens and yellows, the reverse showing the textured surface of the replaced bark.
