Description
Jethro Tull Original Full Album Cover Press Proofs for Various LPs (1976-1982). Saved by the founder's son before Bert-Co Graphics destroyed all their archives. They were the company that printed album covers and record labels for most of the major record companies. All five of these full color proofs are printed on cardstock and at least 26" x 14" in size, as follows. Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die! (Chrysalis CHR 1111, 1976): One front and back cover only proof of this little-known concept album, their ninth. Handwritten Color approval dated April 20, 1978. Stormwatch (Chrysalis CHR 1238, 1979): This proof of their twelfth studio album features a stunning wraparound graphic of a painting by David Jackson. Initialed by proofer at top margin. The Broadsword and the Beast (Chrysalis CHR 1380, 1982): Three proofs for this gorgeous album cover- two show both front and back (with March 16, 1982 handwritten approvals), the other has two images of the front side-by-side (handwritten date of May 11, 1982). This cover art is by Iain McCaig who has created artwork for many high-profile projects including Harry Potter and Star Wars. All are in Very Fine to Excellent condition with light creasing and wear.
