rare and unusual, large, heavy, 18th / 19th century Porcelain Majolica Vase.The vase weighs 11 1/2 lbs!!The vase depicts a tree with branches, supporting a birds nest with 3 baby birds laying back, with their mouths open, waiting to receive food from "Momma Bird" overhead.The vase has an unusual, vibrant, multicolor lustre finish / glaze, done in yellow, silver, green, maroon, aqua, black, gray, white, gold, etc.MEASUREMENTS:The vase measures 13 1/4" high, 11 1/2" wide and 12" deep (front to back). the top measures 5" in diameter, 4 1/2" diameter base and the mother bird measures 4 1/2" long.
Condition
The vase is in very good condition..... There is no damage on the front half of the vase at all. There are a total of 18 porcelain flowers, of which 3 have chipped petal(s). There is one small chip out of the branch on the right side. The only other issue, is a 1 1/4" x 1/2" piece that has been glued back in place on the top outside edge.... see pics for details of these "issues".
