Antique heliogravure on heavy wove paper after Paul-Leon Gagneau. "Before the Storm", A farmer's wife standing on a river bank, and hails to the boatman from across to come pick her up. She seems to have been digging potateos and wants to get home before the storm. This impression is well more than 120 years old. This is not a modern reprint but was hand pulled from the copper plate late 1880's. (Image size 6 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches). Double matted and framed in a solid wood moulding. Frame dimensions 14 1/2 x 18 1/4 inches. This print is in excellent condition. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Notes: Extremely rare and hard to find.
