CHIPPENDALE STYLE HIGHBOY. Probably Centennial, in the Philadelphia taste. Mahogany with poplar secondary wood. Handmade of dovetail and square nail construction and all hand carved. The upper section has a broken-arch pediment, carved cornice, tympanum, rosettes, and quarter-columns, topped by a finely carved cartouche, and with three over two over three drawers; the lower section has one over three drawers, a shell-carved central drawer, shaped and carved skirt, and carved cabriole legs ending in ball and claw feet. Refinished. 93 1/2"h. 43 1/2"w. 20 1/2"d.
