HEPPLEWHITE INLAID CARD TABLE. Massachusetts or New Hampshire, in mahogany with pine and birch secondary woods. Square with an elliptical front and serpentine ends, with a conforming frieze and square, tapered legs. Decorated with figured veneer and inlay, including stringing identical to number 18 (p. 30) in Montgomery, "American Furniture: The Federal Period 1788-1825". Refinished, side hinges broken and additional hinges added to the back edge, minor veneer repairs. 29 1/4" h. 36 1/4" w. 17 1/2" d. (closed) 35" d. (open).
