FRAMED SHIP DIORAMA. Folksy depiction of the ship "Columbia" flying an American flag and with sailors on deck. Shadow box frame of weathered wood with a painted background. An affixed note indicates that the diorama was made by James Anderson in the late 19th Century. Seven US Navy vessels since the late 18th Century have been named "Columbia". Weathered wood on frame appears to be a later addition. 23 3/4"h. 36 1/2"w.
