Second Highest Peak in the World, first English edition. signed by two expedition members on the title, numerous black & white illustrations, original cloth, dustwrapper, slight wear to edges, price-clipped, otherwise a very good copy, [Neate D21; Yakushi D94b], 8vo, 1955. The story of the first ascent of K2 by an Italian expedition in 1954 led by the author. This copy has been signed by Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni who with the author were both members of the expedition.It was in fact Compagnoni and Lacedelli who on 31 July 1954 became the first men to reach the 8,611m summit. An important association copy.
