The Birds of South America [- Illustrations of the Game Birds and Water Fowl of South America], 2 vol. in one (text & plates), 38 hand-coloured lithographed plates by Henrik GrÃ¶nvold, vol.II with half-title, original printed wrappers to second part bound in at end, internally very good, later half morocco, gilt lettered to spine, spine slightly sunned, otherwise a very good, tight copy, [Nissen IVB 129; Zimmer p. 85], 4to, 1914-15-17. One of the great rarities of ornithological printing , grand in ambition but tragically never to realise the hopes of its authors due to by the untimely death of Lord Brabourne during the Great War.
