Pair of magnificent antique judge's bench courthouse torchËres executed in bronze. These beautiful torchËres feature heavy carved alabaster shades, a rich dark bronze patina, egg-and-dart molding, acanthus leaves details with clawed feed on top of a substantial bronze and marble base.
Antiquarian Traders acquired these stately torchËres from the former, original Detroit Customs House and Federal Court building in Downtown Detroit, Michigan before it was demolished in 1964. Originally built in 1861, the old Customs House was a stunning three-story Renaissance Revival style structure built for $162,000 (see image 5).
