Description
In semi relic condition and having replaced grips and barrel wedge. Appears to be 1851 Navy in .36 cal. unsure of maker. Cylinder and hammer are loose (not rusted tight) as is the plunger. Gun was heavily engraved some of which is still visible on frame barrel and cylinder. Comes with a receipt dated 8/7/1974 from Clyde Culver D/B/A Blue & Gray Museum in Gettysburg, Pa. . It was conveyed verbally to buyer that the gun had been dug locally...(you be the judge). A serial number (101974?). Cylinder is also stamped with ELG (Nicholas Gilon?) inside an oval, which would be Belgian. Many European companies copied Colts patterns and some say used Colt surplus parts during the 1850's. This lot has a reserve.
