Description
An exhibition award winning model of a 1 inch scale Minnie agricultural traction engine, built by Mr J. Wingate of Winchester, to the L C Mason design with castings from Reeves of Birmingham, the silver soldered copper boiler with fittings including sight glass, pressure gauge, regulator, direction lever, injector with control lever, band brake to rear wheel, cable winch with fairlead, ash pan control, worm and chain steering, single cylinder with crosshead guide, safety valve, ratchet oiler, eccentric driven water pump, spoked flywheel, brass banding to boiler barrel, detailed rivet work, spoked and straked wheels with brass hub caps, finished in maroon, black and red paintwork with polished brightwork, 45cm long, the rear wheels 21cm wide; comes complete with a glazed display case. Boiler History: None available. Awards: A very highly commended certificate of merit at the 51st Model Engineering Exhibition, Wembley 1982 (copy of certificate available for inspection).
