A motor vehicle demonstration chassis, a fine mains electricity powered working model, circa 1954, by Werner Degener of Hannover, the cruciform and diagonally braced chassis frame with up-swept front and rear sections and drilled side-rails painted grey, the front and rear bumper bars incorporating overiders and registration plates for EH54, with cast aluminium stylised radiator cowl painted blue with mascot and vehicle name HOMM cast into the centre support, the working starting handle arranged so as to engage the crankshaft starting cog, the model six-cylinder overhead valve engine with distributor, sparking plugs with lead, fuel pump, carburettor, inlet and exhaust manifolds, fan, dynamo and starter motor (driving band for fan and dynamo lacking), the crankcase with engine block integral with the clutch bell-housing and four-speed gearbox with change lever and speedo-drive sectional for instructional purposes, the steering box and column similarly sectioned, the transmission propeller shaft with two 'Hardy-Spicer' type fabric couplings, the back axle sectioned so as to demonstrate the differential mechanism, the exhaust pipe incorporating a silencer sectional to show the baffle plates with under-slung spare wheel and fuel tank, battery, accelerator, clutch, and brake pedals, handbrake lever and rod and cable system to front and rear brake drums, the lighting system with working headlights, tail, brake and indicators, the axles supported by leaf springs, front and rear, the wheels with brake drums and HOMM-MODELLE 6.00 x 16 rubber tyres, the model raised on pillar supports and polished wood stand incorporating the electrical system and drive, with push start button and other controls, approximately 43in. x 16in. x 7in. (109cm x 41cm x 18cm) with maker's label.
