Description

AMERICAN "SWING IN THE CITY" PIECED QUILT, primarily period top comprising twenty-one patterned 12 1/2" SQ blocks alternating with twenty-one solid pink. Later hand quilting including outlining to patterned pieces, pink squares with a stylized floral and foliage pattern, pink border with diagonal double straight-line stitching, white back with hanging sleeve and binding. Top circa 1920; backing, quilting, and two quilt squares 1998. 73" x 86".
