1760-80s Chippendale slant front desk, heavily and deeply hand-carved shell crest with scrolling leaf design on desk front, case and drawers with dovetailed construction; upper drawer with rosehead nails; interior with 10 framed pigeon holes and 9 drawers, larger one with lock and key; front legs with ball and claw feet, back legs with bracket feet; pine backing, early heavy paper label on back leg with dip pen script with unreadable writing, working keys and locks,43 1/2" H x 38" W x 22" D.

Desk was probably restored sometime in the 19th century, brasses appear to be correct period but holes realigned, brasses anchored with hand cut nuts and bolts.
