Description
An Early Victorian Period Scottish Mahogany Grandfather Clock. Eight day time and strike weight driven movement with seconds bit, hour hands, and aperture for calendar. Original painted metal dial with repainted Roman Numerals, circular upper door with brass bezel, mahogany case with rosewood banding, quarter column flanked waist door and scalloped apron. Circa 1830 to 1840. Losses and repairs at the crest, worn dial; the movement is complete, but not currently running, in need of cables and suspension spring. 19 1/2" wide x 9" deep x 83 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $600-800
