This c-print on matte RC- paper shows a view from above on a woman with a mask. Here Cindy Sherman stages herself siting leaned against a tree and is wearing an orange shirt and turquoise blue plastic gloves. This picture was taken in 1986 and published in1993 for the edition Texte zur Kunst.

The photograph is signed, numbered and dated on the reverse in pencil ‘Cindy Sherman 84/200 1986/1993’. The condition is very good. The sheet measures 28 x 35.7cm.

Cindy Sherman (b. 1954)

Cindy Sherman studied from 1972 to 1976 at the State University College at Buffalo. First she was interested in painting, but soon she turned to the medium of photography. After her graduation, she moved to New York, where she still lives today. In her photographs she stages herself in different roles. To date, Sherman received many awards and honors, as the 1999 Goslar Kaiserring, the 2002 National Arts Award and the 2012 Roswitha Haftman price. In 1999, ARTnews magazine chose her among the ‘10 Greatest Living Artist’. (fea)
