Condition

The primary paper support is a cream-colored medium weight, moderately flexible western wove paper with deckle edges.

The margins of the paper support are lighter in tone than the main body of the print possibly due to previous exposure to light. The chemical stability and condition of the paper support is good as a result of a previous conservation treatment. Scattered faint pinpoints of foxing visible in the negative space. There appear to be multiple repairs, including three approx. 1-1/2 inches long tears along the center left extreme edge and lower left corner, an approx. 12 inches long tear extending from the upper left to upper right extreme edges, as well as a smaller repair and hairline crease at the upper right extreme edge. Toned pulp fills are present along break lines to visually reintegrate the mend area and associated loss with surrounding original paper. These may be visible in varying angles of light. The edges of the lining paper have been trimmed to the edge of the print, this includes the irregular deckle edges of the paper. The ink medium is in stable condition and well adhered to the primary paper support throughout. There are no breaks in the image area of the print.

The print is hinged to a 100% rag window mat with matching backing board.
