13. EGYPTIAN USHAPTI From the 21st-22nd Dynasty. Heavy miniature sarcophagus form, 3¾" overall. Buried with the dead to serve them and to ward off demons in the underworld, this green glazed terra cotta Ushapti with black geometric under the glaze on back torso displays encrustation with surface flaking, yet retains its detail. Media firing flaws; else a good, large example. MB: $80
