George Nelson Coconut ottoman, by Herman Miller, c. 1960, padded seat with the original white vinyl upholstery, polished steel legs, 23.5"w x 19"d x 16"h, small hole to upholstery From the estate of a former Herman Miller employee.
Condition
Small hole to upholstery. No repairs. Sturdy and structurally sound. The foam is not hard.
The items on pages 130-133, lots 764-776, were purchased in 1958-60 by a Herman Miller employee in California. During her employment, she built a collection of iconic George Nelson and Charles & Ray Eames designs. Around 1970, she and her husband sold their modern house and moved to a dude ranch in Wyoming. They placed their collection of Herman Miller items in storage, where they remained for nearly 40 years.
