Sold with all faults. ++ Insurance policy for 3 houses, insured by The Fire Insurance Company of the County of Philadelphia: “A three Story Brick Dwelling House and two Story Brick Kitchen Situate on the West side of the Old York Road (no 58) between Willow and Noble Streets in the Northern Liberties... on a three Story Brick Dwelling House (No 60) adjoining the above on the North... And on a Two story Brick Dwelling House Situate on the North Side of Buttonwood Street...” The policies were for $1000, $500, and $800 respectively. Payment was $5.75 for the 1st year, beginning Jan. 12, 1842, made by “John W. Hoffman, Administrator... of John Hoffman, deceased.” Renewed 1 time on page [2]. Page [3] is printed with the details of the policy. Docketed on 1 section of page[4]. Some splitting and wear to folds. Pencil to a blank area of page [4]. Overall light toning. ++ “Articles of an agreement made and Concluded upon by and between Adam Kantner of the township of Woodberry and County of Huntingdon in the state of Pennsylvania of the one part, and John Acker of the township County and state aforesaid of the other part...” involved “a certain tract of Land lying and being situate on the waters of Clover Creek in the Township County... adjoining lands of the said John Acker, Samuel Hoover...” Also mentions Christian Hoover. “...And it is further agreed between said parties that in case the said Kantner cannot suit himself in buying a place for himself to go to, that he may keep possession of the premises aforesaid untill the first day of April 1825...” Mar. 1, 1824. [4] pages. The otherwise unused 4th page has notations related to 3 payments (“$50.00,” “$1000.00,” and “Recd. January 1 1825 of John Acker the full amount of the within Article Except two thousand seven hundred and fifty three dollars and fifty three cents left...”) Very good. ++ Indenture for a transaction between Erwin Y. Shelley of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota by William Cranwell “his attorney in fact” and “Horace L. Kent of Richmond, Virginia.” The sale was for “Eight lots in Slaughters Addition to the Town of Superior...” Aug. 19, 1857. Preprinted on paper, blanks filled in by hand, signed by William Cranwell, 3 countersignatures (including “E.W. Anderson” and “J. B. Bell/ Notary Public”). Docketed on verso. Red seal in lower margin. Some splitting along folds (partly tape-repaired). ++ Indenture, similar to the above, also Aug. 19, 1857, between “William Branwell of Superior Douglas County, State of Wisconsin” and Horace L. Kent. “Lot number seventy eight (78) on West Erie street situate between Walker Avenue and Richardson Avenue in the town of Superior...” Payment was for $200. Signed by William Cranwell.
