In part, "Thank you for sending 'Mother Goose' to Miss Jackson, free: and will thank you further for sending another to 'Mrs. E. B. Ward, Detroit, Mich. Care Capt E. B. Ward,' and another to 'Mrs. Henry Robasco, Clifton near Cincinnati, O' not free but charged...send me a bill to Washington..." Boldly penned and signed in lavender ink.
