IRON CROSS AWARDEE'S PHOTO ALBUM
German officer's photo album with cover bearing a steel helmet silhouette, 10 1/2" x 7 3/4" overall, containing about 70 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" or larger photos owned by a Wehrmach soldier awarded an Iron Cross. The man was possibly a member of a cavalry unit, as rows of saddles are shown in one image, and other photos show him on his mount, horses being fed, and a wild cavalry charge. He is later shown on patrol on horseback and on foot in summer and winter, also destroyed villages, an artillery emplacement, men on the march through the snow, and a few images of the foppish officer posing. Very good.
