"NATIONAL SOCIALIST BATTLE AGAINST LAWLESSNESS"
Scarce book "Nationalsozialisticher Kampf gegen das Verbrechertum" ("National Socialist Battle Against Lawlessness"), by Kurt Daluege (mUNICH: Zentralverlag der NSDAP), 1936. 138pp. octavo. Daluege, who would be executed for war crimes by the Czechs, sets forth the achievements of the German police in their battle to reduce crime in Hitler's Germany. The statistics in the book show a serious decline of crime after Hitler's election, largely due to the institution of labor camps. The text is illustrated with many photos, including dispirited prisoners, labor camps and jails where "berufsverbrecher" ("professional criminals") were taken and showing work assigned to them in the hope they would become functioning members of the National Socialist society. Title page bears stamps from the office of the library of the police president in Frankfurt. The cover art is by Mjolnir, Goebbels official cartoonist who also created graphic propaganda posters.
