AMERICAN AIR SERVICE CORPORAL'S UNIFORM
World War I Air Service corporal's tunic, all wool and fully lined, four pockets with five button front closure, all original buttons still present. Collar bears round brass U.S. and Air Service insignia. Three gold overseas chevrons sewn to the bottom of the left sleeve (1 1/2 years' service), sergeant's insignia with metallic thread Air Service emblem applied to right sleeve. An unknown unit patch is sewn at the top of the left sleeve but it is undoubtedly original to the garment. Pants are also present, along with ankle laces. Tunic bears one field repair, otherwise but for a very scattered moth nip here and there, the uniform is in excellent condition.
