LACHLAN MCINTOSH
(1725 - 1806) Revolutionary War General who killed Signer Button Gwinnett in a duel in 1777. Manuscript D.S., 4pp. legal folio, [Georgia, n.d. ca. 1780], McIntosh's petition in a case he has brought against one Harman Courter to whom he had leased land in Georgia, claiming nonpayment of rent and demanding four hundred pounds reimbursement for his losses. The dark ink shows through somewhat, but signature is large and bold, two short fold splits.
