REVOLUTIONARY WAR BEER AND RATIONS ORDER
Revolutionary War fair copy of a general order concerning rations, 1p. 4to., "Head Quarters", Providence, Sep. 13, 1778 prepared by Ass't. Adj. Gen. T. M. Green. The Commissary is ordered to provide each soldier with daily rations to include: "...one and a half pound of beef...one pound of flour or bread five days in a week...Milk and Beer as allowed by Congress in June 1777...Soap and Rice making one tenth...". Left margin tipped to another sheet, very good.
