RAMROD USED AS A BODY HOOK?
Ramrod from a Model 1855 Springfield musket, the end intentionally bent upwards 2 1/2" inches to form a hook. Many believe that such hooks, most often seen in the form of bent bayonets, were used to move about the bodies of the dead prior to burial. A "dug" relic, varnished.
