On Oct. 31, 1967 the elegant liner Queen Mary set sail from Southampton bound for her final lay-up at Long Beach, Ca. where she arrived on Dec. 9. Queen Mary, issued by Cunard White Star, filled with photos and fold-outs depicting the spectacular artwork and architectural details aboard the vessel, along with descriptive and historical text. The first page bears two stamps incorporating the vessel's finale sailing date of Oct. 31, 1967, along with her name and "THE LAST GREAT CRUISE". The page has been signed by all of the principal officers who served on the final cruise, including Capt. JOHN TREASURE JONES, also signed by the Chief Engineer, Staff Captain, Staff Chief Engineer, Chief Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Surgeon, Chief Catering Officer, Purser, and Chaplain. Additionally, the last signer, STACEY N. MILLER, notes she was The Last Stowaway". Miller, a young switchman, stowed away in Lisbon hoping to obtain free passage home. A newspaper article describes his capture and is included. The cover of this rare brochure is a bit soiled and rough but contents are very good.
