(1845 - 1931) Indian fighter, scout, buffalo hunter, member of the Ute Tribe, and noted western artist who documented the declining years of the Plains Indians. Cabinet photograph, 7" x 4 7/8", depicts Stobie full length and in a prone position as he aims a lever action rifle to the left. A corner of the photo has been cut away, else very good. Verso bears ink identification: "Chas. S. Stobie 'Mountain Charlie"".
