Description
1700S GERMAN PEWTER LABOR GUILD GOBLET
Presentation 1739 pewter guild goblet presented to a German craftsman, likely upon his entry to a guild or for services to the organization. The trophy stands 18 3/4" tall and bears a removable cap at top upon which is fixed a standing man holding a banner. The top of the goblet is engraved: "IN THE HONORABLE GUILD OF THE MASTER BRICKLAYERS IN THE TOWN OF SACHSENBURG 1739". About the center are four lion's heads in relief and from one is suspended a small pewter shield with the name of the awardee "V. Zeller". Very good.
