Carved American eagle crest above split columns carved with pineapple capitals, acanthus leafs and lion paw feet. Wooden face is painted with a ring of roses and rose spandrels highlighted with gold. Three-part glazed door is adorn with a reverse-painted double portrait of a sea captain and wife above an eglomise framed reverse-painting of a quite port. Height 36 inches. Condition: Good, flaking to reverse paintings. Minor flaking and inpaint to face, minor veneer loss, key holes have been re-drilled. There is a modern screw attaching the face to the works.

Works have possibly been replaced as there is evidence that it once had a weight driven movement. Please see additional condition in the description.
