Description
This lot is for a pre-prohibition era quart stoneware whiskey jug. It has a very detailed transfer label of a woman and three men sitting at a table drinking and surrounded by plants, company logo, etc. The advertising on the jug reads, "Auld Lang Syne, Pure Old Barley-Malt Whiskey, The Weideman Company, Cleveland, Ohio." Under the picture of the people drinking it states, "The Days of Auld Lang Syne." The back side has a transfer of the Auld Land Syne song followed by the name, "Robert Burns." The size is approximately 7-1/2 inches x 5 inches. This jug is about as nice as they come with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The transfers are clear and the handle is firmly attached; there is some crazing to the lower half of the jug that adds some character to this one.
