Remington Model 1863 Percussion Contract Rifle, c. 1863, walnut stock with two cartouche marks on the left side, brass patchbox and fittings, lockplate dated 1863 and marked REMINGTON'S/ILION,N.Y., barrel marked near breech 1863 and STEEL, barrel 33 inches, overall 49 inches. Together with (3) bayonets one of which fits. (2) Similar bayonets are 21 x 17 inches long and are marked US. The third 23 inches marked "8" fits barrel.
