The lithograph in colors ‘Exhalaison’ was created by the Dutch painter Bram van Velde (1895-1981) in 1975. Depicted is an extensively arranged composition in green, yellow and black-greyish color fields and lines. Bram van Velde took part in the documenta 3 in Kassel in 1964.



The lithograph is monogrammed in ink lower right ‘A v V’, numbered in ink lower right ‘77/100’ and verso titled in pencil ‘Exhalaison’. The work is minimally toned but besides that in very good condition. The full sheet depiction is 60 x 89 cm in size and the total dimensions, including the frame, are 71 x 101 cm.



Bram van Velde (1895-1981)

The Dutch painter and printmaker, who was mainly working in France, trained as a decorator. From 1922 until 1924, he lived in the German artist colony Worpswede, where he created expressionist paintings and lithographs. He moved to Paris in 1924. Interim, he spent four years in Mallorca. He worked in Geneva from 1959 until 1977. He also created book illustrations, for example for ‘Le Calmant’ by Samuel Beckett, who was a close friend of him. Van Velde took part in the documenta 3 in Kassel in 1964. (tm)
