Comments: Escaping from Germany when the Nazi's took power, Lindner eventually arrived in New York City in 1941, and worked as a magazine illustrator for Vogue, Fortune and Harper's Bazaar. His original art has been described as "mechanistic cubism." with much of his imagery related directly to the "Cabaret-Berlin" culture of the 30's, with harsh, dramatic colors and subject matter that ranges from the erotic to the ironic which was typical of that era in Germany. "Fun City" presents typical New York city images in this style.,
