1869 Wachbach – 1926 Dresden
Lehre als Dekorationsmaler in Stuttgart, danach Besuch der dortigen Kunstgewerbeschule. 1892 ging Gussmann an die Unterrichtanstalt des Kunstgewerbemuseums Berlin. 1896 Beginn des Studiums an der Berliner Hochschule fuer Bildende Kuenste. 1897 wurde er Lehrer und spaeter Professor an der Koeniglichen Akademie der Kuenste. Von 1915–19 Rektor an der Dresdener Kunstakademie. Unter Gussmanns Leitung wurde 1910 das Akademische Meisteratelier fuer dekorative Malerei eroeffnet. Gleichzeitig ist er Gruendungsmitglied der Dresdner Kuenstler-Vereinigung. Gussmann gilt als ein bedeutender Vertreter des Jugendstils.

Condition

Vereinzelt mit sehr unscheinbaren Wischspuren im Darstellungsbereich. Die Kanten partiell etwas ungerade geschnitten, die Blattecke u.re. minimal gestaucht.
