Description

Beautiful piece from the famous Virginia and Truckee! Standard glass 5 3/8" tall globe etched with V. & T. Ry. The Virginia and Truckee Railroad was organized in 1868, and the 21-mile standard gauge line was completed on January 29, 1870 between Carson and Virginia City. In 1905, it became the Virginia and Truckee Railway. Thus, this globe must date after 1905. Condition: chip on rim on base; rough edges inside at center bottom and towards top.
