Exceptional etching, engraved under the supervision of the artist in 1989 in London and signed from his hand.

At this time, Keith Haring is seriously ill but continues his work in New York and London. With his etching, he signed his second collaboration with the famous writer William S. Burroughs, an emblematic figure of the Beat Generation.

From this artistic union will generate 16 sketches performed by Keith Haring and 15 manuscript pages from the novel "The Western Lands" by Burroughs.

The novel is a kind of Icarus allegory, who, in Greek mythology, is known to have died after flying too closely at the Sun.

It is once the project is completed as Keith Haring moved to London to produce prints in limited editions of 80 copies, drawen only under the supervision of the artist.

The etching presented is a part of it. It's a rare work. Indeed, the original printing plates used for etching were subsequently destroyed.

Perhaps we can also see in this work, a kind of self-portrait wasted by illness in the last year of his life.
Keith Haring, an artist known worldwide died in 1990. He will mark the world of art through his work with the innocent appearance but with deep messages.
