FERRARI ENZO: (1898-1988) Italian Car Driver & Manufacturer. An excellent T.L.S., Ferrari, one page, slim 4to, Modena, 7th June 1937, to Tazio Nuvolari, in Italian, on printed stationery featuring an attractive colour vignette of the Scuderia Ferrari incorporating a red racing car and prancing horse. Ferrari informs Nuvolari that 'we have arranged for you to take part in the international Eifel race on the 13th of this month' and continues 'For your presence, we have obtained a starting fee of 35,000 lire, and this sum has been granted on the condition, which we have not been able to avoid, that neither of us, nor our racers should display any registered trademarks. We therefore ask you please not to acquire any.' In concluding Ferrari confirms 'Our staff will be at the Nurburg Ring, at the track hotel, from the evening of Thursday 10th'. Letters of this period signed by Ferrari are extremely rare, and the present example is greatly enhanced by not only its content, but also the outstanding association.
