Description
[WORSHIPFUL SOCIETY OF APOTHECARIES]: A vintage printed broadside, one page, 4to, n.p. (London), n.d., (annotated in in ink 1842 in an unidentified hand to the verso), headed The Oath of every Freeman of the Company of Fishmongers of the City of London. The broadside states, in part, 'You shall Swear That you shall be true and faithful to our Sovereign Lady the Queen…..in all Matters (lawful and honest) you shall be obedient to the Wardens of the Mistery of Fishmongers of the City of London….and obedient and ready to come at their Summons and lawful Warnings….or else you are to pay such Penalties as you shall forfeit by your Disobedience…..All lawful Secrets of the said Fellowship, and all such Things as at any time of Assembly shall be lawfully had in Communication amongst the Fellowship aforesaid, at any of their Meetings called a Court of Assistants, you shall keep secret, and not disclose the same to any Person of that Fellowship to whom the same Matter to your Knowledge shall in any Manner or Wise concern or touch….'
